Lab Packing Services
Lab Packing services
Quite simply put, Lab packing is the process of putting small containers into one larger container. However, it does become a bit more complicated than that. Lab Packs will typically consist of off-spec, unused, outdated, spent or expired wastes that have the same characteristics, such as; flammability, corrosivity, oxidizer or toxic just to name a few. Properly identifying the waste stream, hazard class and its characteristics is where HES steps in to relieve our clients of the potential problems that could arise. Knowing that your lab packs are properly packed, labeled, profiled and manifested prior to ever being shipped off for disposal, is one less area of concern for both the company and its employees.
During the process of preparing lab packs, HES is extremely careful to adhere to guidelines and regulations established by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Transportation (DOT). Understanding these regulations and what items are compatible, can reduce the overall volume of containers being prepared for shipment.
Mishandling and improper disposal of hazardous waste lab packs can create both a health risk and an environmental risk. Most injuries experienced in this industry are typically from incompatible wastes being packed into the same container. By not correctly storing, packing, shipping and disposing of your lab pack wastes could expose you and your company to potential injuries and penalties.
Whether you have a one-time lab pack or you are a recurring customer, HES is equipped to safely manage your waste from inventory identification through final treatment and disposal.
